David Besecker & Barbara Good

August 20, 2007
While researching the Besecker/Beasecker line, I came across a website which researches the 'Good' surname (http://www.guthguttgood.com/). On the site it referenced the will of John Good (father of Barbara Good Besecker). That document can be found at http://www.guthguttgood.com/pa5_raven/goodwill003.html. What is great about the document besides the explanations is that David Besecker is mentioned.

Where are David & Susannah?

August 19, 2007
In order to complete my application to the SAR based upon descendency from Hans Jacob Biesecker who faught in the Revolutionary War, I need to provide a primary source which links David Besecker (b. 1775) with David Beasecker (b. 08 Mar 1807). During this search I found some interesting records. For example I found that David (Sr.) was provided at least three sections of land in Ohio from the government. His brother Nicholas had also received land.

So David (Sr.) and his wife Barbara (nee Good), both from Pennsylvania originally, married in Ohio. Ohio is the state where they had their five children and also passed away (Clay, Montgomery, Indiana). The trouble I have been having is determining what happened to David (Jr.) and his wife Susannah (Replogle)? They were found in the 1840 census in Ohio and then in the 1850 census in Indiana. The difficulty I am having is tracking David (Jr.) and Susannah from 1850 to 1880. I can't locate either of them in either the 1860 or 1870 census.

At the end of September Amy and I will be heading out to Montgomery County Ohio to do a little research. Hopefully we can locate records which tell us where David and Susannah were during that time.
